In this face to face 55 minutes session we will focus on your concerns, and all relevant historical information in order to create a report on your current well-being. From here, we’ll discuss the neuroscience behind how the brain works and how we can get into these difficult to handle situations.

Immediately, we’ll begin to monitor change.

Solution Focussed Hypnotherapists monitor each and every session in order to show you, the client, your improvement. From there I will give you a free recording that you can use at home so you can continue your progress away from the consulting room.

Follow up session

Overview

During each Solution Focused Hypnotherapy session, we look at what the client wants to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted them to visit us (the problem). Part of the session is a talking therapy (psychotherapy) and the other half is hypnosis (trans work).

Psychotherapy Part of the session will involve us asking what has been different, what has been better even in very small ways? Creativity is increased and positive happy memories are accessed spontaneously and far more often. Playfulness, lightness, laughter and creativity to be present during every session. The Therapy is non-judgemental, encourages mindfulness and is respectful of client’s own wisdom. NLP techniques will be used in some circumstances particularly phobic or compulsive responses.

Client will be asked to listen Self Hypnosis CD/MP3 every single day just before going to sleep.

Hypnosis is a normal, natural, trance like state that allows the individual to have focused attention. This is something which we can move in and out of many times within the day. We can be in a form of trance, for example, when we are driving, out for a run or even just daydreaming.

Put simply, hypnosis is merely the natural harnessing of focused thought. It is what we focus on that provides us with an emotional response. When entering hypnosis on the therapists couch, you are in a relaxed, pleasant but concentrated state where you have very much heightened awareness. It is said that our brain is more active and alert at night when, for example, we are dreaming. Therefore, when replicating this ‘dream like’ state on the therapists couch, the subconscious mind is more susceptible to positive suggestion and therapeutic change. The ‘idiling’ mind shown within neuroscientific testing, can be working up to 4 times as hard than say, the concentration required to sit a maths exam back at school. Hypnosis uses the natural ability of the resting mind to create a lasting and hugely effective, positive outcome.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, scientifically researched therapy which helps to aid in a person’s positive change within their life. The key is in the name as it focuses on solutions to the problem by helping the client to look to their future, not by focusing on the origin of the problem or contemplating past memories which has brought about their search for change.
